Camping again! :)

We decided to go camping again this weekend - I was supposed to be going to Oban for a choir rehearsal today, but I decided to skip it and go camping with the family - much more fun! :)
The weather was amazing, the kids had SO much fun... they went paddling in the sea and built sandcastles and we played frisbee... we had hotdogs and pork kebabs and ribs, baked potatos (in tinfoil in the fire!) and a tin of beans for dinner, followed by toasted marshmallows... the kiddies ended up not going to bed until about 9ish for Kathryn and 10ish for Alexander as it was so light and we didn't have watches on that we hadn't realized the time until we checked our phones!!
We used our new tent which we ordered off of Amazon for £30 and it's GREAT! It's bigger, easy to assemble and easy to put away! We were much warmer than last time, and slept much better!
Kathryn woke up at 5.30 with an exploded nappy but then after half an hour of playing went back to sleep 'til 7.30 which was okay! Poor wee thing was very tired today and didn't have her morning nap but she fell asleep as soon as we got in the car to drive home. She has SO much fun though being outside all of the time, it's so lovely.
Poor Kathryn got a sunburnt bald patch on the top of her head though!! We put sunscreen all over her but never even throught of her head! Alexander has two little sunburnt patches on the backs of his legs and Adam's neck is bright red! I'm the only one that didn't wear any sunscreen and I just have a little bit of red on my shoulder's and that's it! Think the kids must have inherited Adam's complexion!
We're all exhausted now though, and stink of campfire smoke, and have to wash everything that we took with us because it's all smokey too. But it's worth it! Had a lovely lovely time! Can't wait to go again!!!

Here are some pictures! :)

That's all for now! :)

Hello from me again :)

Apologies to anyone who downloaded my freebie and had problems with the papers - some people did and others didn't! Not sure what went wrong?! I'm working on a new one so we'll see if it happens again!!

I've not been very well this week - a bad cold turned into a bad cough which turned into bronchitis, which then resulted in antibiotics which have completely wiped me out and made me feel like I have the flu!

Kathryn has also been under the weather and ended up with pink-eye over the weekend but it doesn't actually seem to have affected her much, she's still her happy little self!! :) She got her first pair of shoes last week which are VERY cute :)

Not much been happening since then, have just been lying low trying to recover from this cold! :P Have a busy few weeks up ahead with choir though... we're singing at a concert this weekend at Duart Castle, then next Friday we have our ceilidh, then the following week on the Saturday we have the Oban Mod - which were NOT ready for at all, and I can't forsee us becoming ready by then!! But we'll see! :P

Kathryn's birthday is in two weeks, I can't believe it! We're going to have a little party on Wednesday with just a couple of baby friends, nothing too exciting but enough to celebrate! :) We've bought her a ladybug rainjacket & umbrella, a book, a teaset and a little bottle to feed her dolly... and Alexander has got her a toy pram... I think we did well for buying just small things! Except for the pram, it's a bit bigger, but that was from Alexander so it doesn't count. ;)

Hopefully I'll be back soon with my new digi kit for anyone who's interested! :)

My first digi freebie kit! :)

Well I finally tried it! Have made a kit for siggy making/digi scrapbooking! It's not the best kit in the world, and the papers are probably all a bit small for printing, but good for tags and siggies and textures etc.

Most of the pictures were taken at Calgary beach when I went with the kids a few weeks ago.

Please do download it, and try it out, and give me constructive criticism; I have a few other selections of photos I'd like to use in the future to make more kits, but I could use some feedback so I know what I've done right & wrong!

You are free to use my kit however you want, no credit needed to me. It includes a mixture of papers, frames, elements and an upper case alpha/ numbers set.

Enjoy!! :)

YAY!!! My baby girl is GREAT! :)

YAY YAY YAY!!! When Adam was home for lunch he said she'd done one step, then while he was still home she did one again.... and within the past hour she has come on like mad, she's so proud of herself! I knew it wouldnt' be long but wow, so fast!! YAY! She has exhausted herself though and has gone for a nap! :)
I'm such a proud and happy mummy! And I'm SO glad Adam saw that first step, I feel so bad for him missing out an all of these things!

Wooohooooooo!

Ooh! And! We've just bought a new tent, YAY! Ordered it on Amazon, £30 not bad! So excited for it to come! :)

Excited!

Today I booked my trains and youth hostels for the AMT meetup in July! It's 12 weeks away so I was finally allowed to book tickets! :) I'm SO excited!
Because of ferries, trains and distance though, I'll be away for two and a half days!
I will catch the 5pm ferry on Friday, to meet up with the 6pm train from Oban to Glasgow. Arriving in Glasgow at 9.30pm, I'll stay in a youth hostel on Friday night, get up at 5am to catch a 5.40 train to Birmingham. The meetup will probably start early afternoon (I'll have arrived in Birmingham about mid-day I think?) and go on until we all fall over... then my train leaves at 1pm on Sunday, to arrive back in Oban, via Glasgow, at 9.30pm, which is after the last boat! So I have to stay in a youth hostel in Oban as well, and then get up super-early to catch the 7am boat which will get me to Mull for 8am, which gets me back to Tobermory for 8.30am, before Adam goes to work! Woohoo! :)
Alexander is hopefully going to get to go to my parents' house that week - not sure when we'll get him to them - which will be wonderful for him, and it means that I will only have to deal with one little person the day I get back after a long and tiring - but very fun! - weekend. :) I'm just hoping that I don't end up childminding that week. Jane knows Alexander will be going away, but not sure if she'll still want me to have the kids. I imagine it will be a long week if she does... don't know how I'd entertain them if I don't have munchkins here!

Anyway, in other news, Kathryn has now got five teeth and a 6th on the way. Three came through all at once over this past week. We're all a bit sleep deprived because of it! She is doing so well though, I can't believe she is 11 months old now. The first 6 months seemed to go at the right speed but the past 5 months have flown by. She's not confident enough to try steps on her own yet but I don't think it will be long.
Alexander didn't get into school this year so he will have another year of playgroup. I'm torn between disappointment for him and happiness that I have another year with him at home with me. I think he would have really benefitted from school, but hopefully the playgroup will somehow manage to make an effort to get him doing extra activities that help stimulate his mind - otherwise he will be very, very bored. But we'll see. The head teacher has promised me that he's going to make sure he gets something to keep him from getting bored. Fingers crossed!

We didn't get any of the council houses that were up over the past few months... not sure when it's going to happen now, so we are resigning ourselves to staying here for the time being. It wouldn't bother me, it's just the unsettled feeling has now kicked in and I can't really be bothered with anything. Need to shake it though because my house is such a mess again and it's depressing me. This happens quite regularly though, I just hope it passes quickly so I can get on top of things again!

Anyway it is getting late and I must go to bed as Kathryn will probably see fit to wake me up in about 4 hours demanding a bottle, cuddles, dummies, bonjela and goodness knows what else.

Will be back soon. :) x
